For a number of years I have been solicited by my customers to supply the
most common accessory for my period trousers - suspenders (a.k.a. "braces" and "galluses". However,
I have never pursued it knowing that there are a variety of sources for suspenders on the market
today. Recently though I was approached by several gentlemen who finally convenienced me to look
into production when they remarked "Yes, there are other sources out there Sully but what can
YOU do?"
With that I now offer a pair of authentic suspenders that will work
comfortably within all levels of the hobby. I elected to offer suspenders that would be considered
a common period style; something that would be found on the average working man of the era and at a
very affordable price for today's reenactors.
Thus I offer for your consideration the following Stony Brook Company
suspenders possessing these details:
Natural colored leather ends with "keyhole" button attachment
...and of course nothing like some photos to demonstrate all this.
Natural colored 100% cotton webbing straps
Generous strap length (1 1/2" x 45") fitting short to tall
Period correct brass frame two-tine adjustment buckles
Rear leather tabs which "tuck in" the raw webbing ends
Hemmed front strap ends
Made in the U.S.A. :-)
