HAT; CIVVY "BEEHIVE". #BP2325. This tan colored "beehive" pattern civilian slouch hat is BRAND
NEW, NEVER WORN and is a size 7 5/8 - 7 3/4 (measures 23 1/4" around the sweatband).
This hat was made by Dirty Billy and is his #C33 1850s low crown hat. Brim measures 3 wide. Light
brown or pecan colored side grosgrain ribbon and matching edge binding. Nice checkered (striped? :-)
cotton shirting style lining with a muslin crown featuring a "HOLBROOK, ATLANTA, GA" makers
stamp. Wide brown leather sweatband has been sewn in by hand.

HAT; BLACK FUR/FELT: #TR6780. This Phil Sheridan style hat made by Dirty Billy.
Used but in GREAT condition! Size is 6 & 7/8 to 7 (measures 21 ½ around the sweatband). Slightly
flared crown with a slightly recessed flat top. Flat brim measuring 2 ½ inches wide. Brim edge
is bound in black grosgrain top. The hat also features a black 2 wide band around the side.
Lined in a royal blue silk liner. Liner is in excellent physical condition but does show some
marks on the top. The owner indicates some of this mark was from a gold painted manufacturers
stencil that was on the lining and most of this is the remnant of that stencil. However, this
does not affect the condition of the lining. Handsewn oxblood color (dark maroon) thin leather
sweatband measuring 2 Ό wide. The hat looks like a blueish/purple in the photos due to the very
bright lights for the photographs. However,the hat is in fact black.

BERDAN'S FORAGE CAP; #BP1341 This McDowell pattern cap
was made by Quartermaster Shop in a medium weight dark green wool. Size is 7 5/8 (measures
about 23 1/4") around the sweatband. This forage cap is in EXCELLENT++ condition and I doubt
it has seen any type of wear (may have even been just a display item). No welting around the crown
or the black leather visor. The chin strap is black leather with a brass buckle. Two small U.S.
eagle side buttons. Black leather sweatband. Lining is a brown polished cotton. This cap is entirely
machine-made and has tags still sewn in.

BERDAN'S FORAGE CAP; #PM3989. Maker unknown on this sutler row Berdan
forge cap. Size about a 7 1/4. According to the seller this cap was used at one non-field
event and then put away. Thus this cap is in EXCELLENT++ condition. Made in a lightweight forest
green wool with pasteboard top (disc). No welting around the disc. Black leather rounded edge visor
and black leather functioning chinstrap. No welting around the visor where it joins the cap and no
brass buckle on the chin strap. Side buttons are small 1/2" U.S. general service Eagles. Lined in
muslin with hand sewn top (crown) and hand stitching around the liner where it joins the bottom of
the cap. No sweatband. No stamps, tags or marks save for an "M" (for "medium") written on the
inside liner at the crown.

SHIRT; BROWN WOOL FLANNEL CONTRACT VARIENT: #MK3800. This light brown (like a caramel color) wool flannel contract varient shirt has been used but it is in great condition (no rips, tears, stains, etc). Freshly laundered. Cut similar to the regular U.S. Army issue domet flannel shirt but with the addition of an upper left breast pocket. Size fits up to 40" chest. Sleeves are 36" (as measured from the center of the back of the neck, over the shoulder and down the arm) and do not have the underarm gussets by design. Falling pattern collar is a generous 17 1/2" to 18". Body length is 24" down the front. Reinforced shoulders. Side seams are split and hemmed and the shirt is hemmed along the bottom. Internal body seams are not hemmed or felled. Cuffs have one paperbacked tin button each for closure. Front button plaquet has two paperbacked tin buttons. Collar closes via a paperbacked tin button also. Shirt came with hand sewn button holes in dark brown thread and the owner started going over them in a lighter colored thread. However, there are several more left to do. The buyer can finish the job or simply remove the current work the present owner started. Made by Chris Daley.

These knee length drawers were made by Jarnagin and have a 33" to 34" waist and
measure 31" long (top of the waistband to bottom of leg as measured down the side of these drawers).
Made in a finely woven natural color osnaburg type cotton. Waistband closes in front via two small
"bone" buttons and has a cotton cord tie on the back. Entirely machine sewn including buttoholes.

SUSPENDERS: SINGLE BUTTON HOOK-UP. #DP2876: These suspenders are BRAND NEW, NEVER ISSUED
and were made a few years ago by Doug Potter. Total working strap length measures 65" (5 feet, 5 inches!).
The front single button suspension hangers - the front pieces hanging from the adjustment buckles
which have leather ends - measure 8" in length. The rear leather pieces sewn to the strapping measure
in with a 2 1/2" working length. As a result you have a tremendous amount of available length on
these suspender and a good portion of it probably needs to be cut off once adjusted to buyers height
INCLUDING leaving 6 to 8 inches of extra strap for future adjustment. The straps are a very durable
plain off-white cotton webbing and are 1" wide. The leather ends (front and back) are pretty thick
and may need oiling to soften them up a little. It was noted to me that the two-tine brass
buckles used on these suspenders are antique items.

SUSPENDERS; DOUBLE BUTTON HOOK-UP: #NS559: These gray w/ red/blue stripe suspenders are
new, never used but are an older stock. As a result some of the leather where it folds over the
buckles has started to develop some fine surface cracks. Certainly nothing major but I have to
consider the these surface cracks a "blemish" on the leather. Overall, these suspenders feature
nice quality die-cut natural color leather ends with die-cut eyelets for the buttons. The leather
ends are SEWN to the cotton webbing not riveted. Buckles are period correct two-tine brass.
The webbing measures 1 1/2" wide by a v-e-r-y generous 46" in length. Once these suspenders
are tried on and adjusted for a good fit you'll probably have to trim off some of the extra webbing
on the front. The straps are not sewn together in the back where they would cross. This is done by
specific (historical) design. The leather tabs on the back are split allowing for the webbing to
be "sandwiched" in between the split and sewn down - thus making for a nice clean look. Center-to-center
on the front leather tabs (eyelet to eyelet where the buttons attach) measures 2 1/2" so you may
have to readjust a couple of your front trouser buttons to fit ... maybe. :-) These items were

HAVERSACK; OFFICER'S LEATHER. #PM1484. This leather officer's haversack is BRAND NEW, NEVER
USED and in mint condition. Made by Dixie Leather Works in a black leather with semi-gloss
finish and sewn in white thread. Measures approximately 13" wide x 10" tall. The carrying strap
(which is currently folded up and inside the bag) measures 49" long not counting the brass snaps
for connecting it to the haversack body. The strap is adjustable via a brass roller buckle and six
adjustment holes. When the seller first got this haversack he had an extra hole (nicely done) punched
in further up the strap to allow for more adjustment. However, after this was done the haversack
went back into the box and never was put into service. The strap has white decorative
stitching and a support piece for over-the-shoulder. The brass snaps on the strap attach to the bag
via two brass "D" rings. In addition to the main inner (expandable) pocket - which has a 3-button
white cotton drill bag - there is also a leather pocket on the inside front cover, a slightly small
pocket on the outside of the front cover and a small pocket on the outside back of the haversack.
Thus this haversack has one large inner bag, one large inner pocket plus two outside pockets. The
main inner leather bag closes via a strap and brass adjustment buckle; the outer back side pocket
closes via a small leather strap and roller buckle and the pocket on the front flap closes via a
small brass finial. The haversack itself closes as a whole with a small leather strap and brass roller
buckle. This haversack is quite an intricate piece of work. :-) Printed instructions for the care
of this haversack are still in the inside pocket.

in mint condition. Made by Dixie Leather Works in a black leather with semi-gloss finish and sewn
in dark khaki thread. Measures approximately 11.5" wide x 9" tall. The carrying strap (which is
currently folded up and inside the bag) measures 44" long (max) not counting the brass snaps for
connecting it to the body. The strap is adjustable via a painted black brass roller buckle and
five main and three additional (further up the strap) adjustment holes. Using the highest adjustment
hole (for shortest length) the strap measures approximately 33" long. The strap has dark khaki
decorative stitching. The brass snaps on the strap attach to the bag via two brass "D" rings. In
addition to the main inner bag there is also a smaller inner pocket. This dispatch case closes via
a small leather adjustment strap with bright brass buckle. A printed sheet with care instructions
is still in the pocket.

BALL "Domed" BUTTONS; Stamped Brass. #FB2024.
We have on hand at this time 5 gross of SMALL 1/2" brass ball buttons and 10 gross of larger 5/8"
brass ball buttons. These are all brand new and being sold "by the gross" only; minimum order one
gross. These are UNPOLISHED stamped brass with a wire loop back. These buttons DO NOT HAVE
any protective finish, coating or "wash" on them so they will tarnish (just like the originals :-).
These buttons are just as they are when they came out of the molds and some may have a little
light machine oil on the domed surfaces. With that, any falling within that catagory would need to
be wiped down before sewing on the uniform. These buttons have worked well on Fire Zouave style
jackets, vievandiere jackets, select Chasseur jackets, leggings, and such similar special applications.
These photos are not the greatest but will give you an idea of the shape of the dome, loop, etc.
I'll see about getting some clearer shots up as soon as possible.
