Medium sky blue ("Confederate sky blue") rise and crown and a dark blue side band. Two-piece enameled bound leather visor and a one-piece black leather chin strap. Side buttons are script "I". Glossy black leather hand sewn sweatband. Lined in a tan/red cotton check shirting with a "J.H. Silverberg" (etc) maker's label on the liner crown. The owner's initials are also on the liner crown. a limited run of indigo dyed blue/grey kersey with a bound black painted cloth visor and sweatband.
The sweatband is sewn in by hand. Side buttons are U.S. eagle "I"s. Lined in an unbleached muslin
and has the owners initials stenciled on the liner crown. In the photos the hat is stuffed with

This size 7 1/2 (measures 23 1/2" around the
sweatband) C.S. kepi is BRAND NEW, NEVER WORN. Maker unknown but high end work. Made in
a brown/tan jean wool with a single thickness dark brown leather visor. The visor has a slight
upward curl to it but easily worked out back to flat if desired. The sweatband is black painted
cloth and is sewn in by hand. No chin strap or side buttons. Lined in an unbleached muslin and has
the owners initials and "ACWA" printed on the liner crown. In the photos the hat is stuffed with
paper to show height.

Made in a light tan cotton jean this kepi is BRAND
NEW NEVER WORN. Size is a 7 3/8 (measures 22 1/2 around the sweat band). Single thickness
black leather visor and a narrow (around 3/8") strip of black leather for a "chin strap". Side
buttons are small brass civilian floral design items with the left one being a bit different than
the right. Lined in a red/tan/green cotton shirting with an osnaburg crown. Stamped on the liner

C.S. INFANTRY OFFICER'S KEPI. #BP3329:
Made in a dark gray wool with sky blue side band. This cap is USED but is still in good solid
serviceable condition. Quartered on the body with two rows of petite metallic gold trim and two
rows of quarterfoil on the crown. This gold trim has taken in a mellow patina. Size is about a 7
1/8 (measures 21 1/8" around the sweatband). Bound enameled visor and a black enameled chin strap.
The visor had been turned up a little but can be straightened out (if desired) with a little effort.
Side buttons are Maryland State seal. On the front is an ornate brass letter "A" which is afixed
to a dark wool patch that has an embroidered metallic gold wreath. Inside we have a blue cotton
stripe lining material very similar to ticking. On the liner crown is a maker's label - showing a
little wear but still ledgible for the most part. Original owners name is written on the label.
Sweatband is dark brown leather and sewn in by hand. Maker unknown but definitely one of the
top one's out there.

C.S. FORAGE CAP W/ 1st TEXAS BRASS. #BP2394.
This medium weight light gray wool forage cap is a size 7 (measures 23" around the sweatband).
It is in EXCELLENT++ condition and I doubt this cap has seen any type of wear (may have even been
just a display item). Cut very much like the U.S. forage caps with a welted, forward-falling pasteboard
top, soft sides, adjustable black leather chin strap (but no buckle), slightly rounded cut black
leather visor and two small Texas star pattern buttons. Inside we have a silver-gray polished cotton
lining and a wide dark brown leather sweatband. On the top of the crown is the numeral "1", the
letter "K" and also in brass a 1 1/4" wide star. The wire attachments for these brass items do NOT
punch through the lining. They were either VERY carefully installed by the cap owner (to avoid
puncturing through the top of the liner) or attached by the cap maker prior to installing the
liner. This cap is entirely machine-made. Maker unknown but definitely looks like a
Quartermaster Shop cap.

BERDAN'S FORAGE CAP; #PM3989. Maker unknown on this sutler row Berdan
forge cap. Size about a 7 1/4. According to the seller this cap was used at one non-field
event and then put away. Thus this cap is in EXCELLENT++ condition. Made in a lightweight forest
green wool with pasteboard top (disc). No welting around the disc. Black leather rounded edge visor
and black leather functioning chinstrap. No welting around the visor where it joins the cap and no
brass buckle on the chin strap. Side buttons are small 1/2" U.S. general service Eagles. Lined in
muslin with hand sewn top (crown) and hand stitching around the liner where it joins the bottom of
the cap. No sweatband. No stamps, tags or marks save for an "M" (for "medium") written on the
inside liner at the crown.

and condition but in size 6 & 7/8. Also, this cap has a single strap decorative black
leather chinstrap with brass buckle rather than the standard two-piece chin strap.

HAT; BLACK “PHIL SHERIDAN” : #TR6780. This “Phil Sheridan” style hat was made by
Dirty Billy. Used but in GREAT condition! Size is 6 & 7/8 to 7 (measures 21 ½” around the sweatband). Slightly
flared crown with a slightly recessed flat top. Flat brim measuring 2 ½” inches wide. Brim edge
is bound in black grosgrain top. The hat also features a black 2” wide band around the side.
Lined in a royal blue silk liner. Liner is in excellent physical condition but does show some
marks on the top. The owner indicates some of this mark was from a gold painted manufacturers
stencil that was on the lining and most of this is the remnant of that stencil. However, this
does not affect the condition of the lining. Handsewn oxblood color (dark maroon) thin leather
sweatband measuring 2 ¼” wide. The hat looks like a blueish/purple in the photos due to the very
bright lights for the photographs. However, the hat is in fact BLACK.

VEST; C.S., GRAY WOOL. #MD1342: This C.S. military cut vest is a size 46. This is virtually brand new having been worn only to two dances (no field service). Therefore it is in EXCELLENT++ condition inside and out. Made by C & D Jarnagin in a medium weight gray (gray with a black speckle effect) wool. Short standing collar, three vest pattern pockets (two lower and one upper), nine button front, muslin lining, gray cotton back (which has a white floral pattern print) and two rear adjustment belts (made from the the backing material) with a nickel plated "slide" pattern buckle. This buckle can be changed out to a two tine brass buckle by the buyer if desired or we can do it upon request here at the shop just for the cost of the buckle. This vest has nine 1/2" C.S.A. buttons on the front. However, these too can be changed out by the buyer (or us if the customer desires just for the cost of the new buttons) to any CS branch of service button or state seal button of the same size. Entirely machine-sewn including buttonholes.
U.S. ISSUE DOMET FLANNEL SHIRT; #CD8738 This U.S. issue domet flannel shirt was worn one afternoon only at a living history demo. It is therefore in EXCELLENT++ physical condition! Made by Ted Quednau and will fit individual with up to a size 42 chest. Made from unbleached domet flannel with falling collar with one button closure at the throat. No front plaquet. Present are shoulder reinforcements, under arm gussets, split side seams and functioning cuffs. Buttons are small paper backed tin. ALL seams are rolled and hand felled plus lots of hand top stitching. Stamped on the tails are "A.S. Saroni New York" (the maker) and "James Williams N.Y." (the inspector).

SHIRT; BROWN/GRAY JEAN WOOL: #TR3638.
This JEAN WOOL shirt is cut very similar to the U.S. domet flannel shirts but without the
falling collar (this shirt of collarless). Size is 36" chest - but may fit 38" if individual
is of slim build). Sleeves (as measured from the center of the back of the neck, over the
shoulder and down the arm) are 33". Neck opening is a generous 20". Body length is 25" down the
front and slightly longer (by design) down the back. Front button plaquet with panel that hides
(covers) the four small bone buttons. This shirt is BRAND NEW, NEVER WORN (was laundered
prior to shipping it up though) and features golden yellow 1/2" wool twill tape trimming around
the front plaquet and around the neck opening. Sleeves feature underarm gussets and a bone button
at each cuff. Machine-sewn main seams. The shirts bottom hem plus cuff hems are machine-sewn.
However, all the body main seam edges are rolled and hand felled. Shirt has shoulder reinforcements.
Side seams are split and have separate facings that are felled by hand. Maker unknown.

DRAWERS; SANITATION COMMISSION CANTON FLANNEL. #MD2256: These 1864 pattern Sanitation Commission canton flannel drawers are BRAND NEW, NEVER WORN and measure 41" around the waist with a 29" length. These drawers are ENTIRELY HAND SEWN! Two-button closure waistband and one-button closure on the fly. Buttons are natural bone. The rear waistband is split and has four (2 per side) handsewn grommet holes and a tie-back lace. With the lace let out there is about an inch gain in the waist. Button holes in the fly and waistband are also hand sewn. Hand topstitching on the fly and waistband PLUS all seams are rolled and hand felled. Cuffs are rolled and hand hemmed (no tie-up laces according to original pattern). No stamps or markings.

BRASS SPY GLASS; Sale Pending #NC7782. Made in England by Stanley Brass this brass spy glass is in EXCELLENT++ condition. The brass work is in A+ condition, the optics work perfectly and the black leather case with brass buckle is in fine shape. Measures 5 1/4" when closed (collapsed), 15 3/4" when fully extended and 17" with the sun shield pulled forward to shield the 7/8" in diameter front lens. Good magnification for it's size. Now we're not talking something on line with a Leupold Mark 4 10x40mm long range tactical rifle scope here but still, this spy glass is just right in terms of "period" magnification for the instrument's size. Seller has it listed for 1/2 it's original purchase price.

RAIN COVER: #BP8114. Black oil cloth rain cover for a forage cap. Measures 24" around the
bottom edge. No side button holes; just a pull-over job. I'm not exactly sure what this fabric is:
could be black oil cloth or a modern black vinyl. Either way it has a glossy black top surface

.58 CALIBER LEATHER ACCOUTREMENT SET: #JB1008.
This set is BRAND NEW NEVER USED and consists of a cartridge box with U.S. plate and tins,
cartridge box sling, waist belt with brass keeper and a brass tipped 7-rivet bayonet scabbard. This
set DOES NOT HAVE an Eagle breast plate for the sling, a U.S. waist belt plate, a cap box
nor a bayonet. The cartridge box, cartridge box sling and waist belt were originally
made by Cary Davisson. The bayonet scabbard was made by Jan Berger. The waist belt and cartridge
box sling are made from a dark brown leather with black dyed surfaces. The cartridge box and bayonet
were made of a natural colored leather with black dyed surfaces. No marks or stamps except on the
bayonet scabbard which reads "J.H. BERGER". Total working length on the belt is 44" (not
counting the couple extra inches when a belt plate is added). So with that figure when worn over
a sack coat it will work for an individual with up to a max waist size of about 42", maybe 43".
The owner WILL NOT break up this set.
