CHEVRONS: Images show U.S. infantry chevrons but we maintain a small stock of COMPANY GRADE chevrons for both U.S. and C.S. INFANTRY, ARTILLERY and CAVALRY/ENGINEER branches of service. The infantry chevron images just demonstrate the pattern, tape and assembly techiques. Our chevrons are made of 1/2" wool tape sewn on using color matched thread. The ends of the tape are folded under and are not left raw. The wool backings are made of NAVY BLUE wool for U.S. or DARK GRAY wool for C.S. service. Cadet gray is also available for C.S. backings as well. Backings are either STRAIGHT EDGED or ARCHED (bowed) pattern. INFANTRY chevrons are made in a darker shade (like a Saxony blue) of sky blue wool tape. ARTILLERY chevrons are made in a scarlet wool tape and CAVALRY/ENGINEER chevrons are made in a golden yellow (not lemon yellow) wool tape. DESIGN NOTE: I've received some e-mails from gents who have questioned how my chevrons fold at the bottom of the "V" joint rather than have a vertical seam down the middle. I've also had some gents tell me that the fold is just flat wrong, period. My response . . .

For a number of years I have been solicited by my customers to supply the most common accessory for my period trousers - suspenders (or braces or galluses - which ever definition you prefer :-) However, I have never pursued it knowing that there are a variety of sources for suspenders on the market today. Eventually I looked into production when they remarked "Yes, there are other sources out there but what can YOU do?"

With that I now offer a pair of suspenders that will work comfortably within all levels of the hobby. I elected to offer authentic suspenders that would be considered a conservative style of the era, something that would be found on the average working man then and at a very affordable price for reenactors today.
